DYERSVILLE, Iowa - Wilma K. Prier, 67, of Dyersville, died suddenly Saturday, Sept. 24, 2005, near Geneva, Ill., while visiting family.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. Francis Xavier Basilica, Dyersville, with the Rev. Douglas Loecke officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, September 27, 2005 at the Kramer Funeral Home, Dyersville, where the Catholic Daughters of the Americas rosary will be recited at 4 p.m. and a parish scripture service will be at 5 p.m.

She was born on Nov. 20, 1937, in Ryan, Iowa, daughter of Emil J. and Rose (Wieferich) Lasche.

She married Edward Prier on Oct. 3, 1961, in Ryan.

She was a housewife and mother who enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.

She was a member of the Catholic Daughters of the Americas. She and Ed enjoyed bowling and playing cards.

Surviving are her husband, Edward, of Dyersville; three sons, Steve (Sharon) Prier, of Dyersville, Scott (Marybeth) Prier, of Geneva, and Kevin Prier, of Dyersville; two daughters, Sharon (Matt) Beglau, of Dyersville, and Carmen (Jason) Steffensmeier, of Farley; 11 grandchildren, Taylor, Toshia and Derek Prier, Ashley and Adam Prier, Chelsea Beglau, Sara, Ryan and Nicholas Prier and Jared and Cody Steffensmeier; and two sisters, Grace (Bob) Niehaus, of Mason, Ohio, and Ruth (Ambrose) McCusker, of Fontana, Calif.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Kaye Glynn.
