Leverne "Vern" Platz, 82, died Saturday, March 3, 2007, in Heritage Manor Nursing Home, Dubuque, after a lingering illness. Services: 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, St. Francis Xavier Basilica, Dyersville, with the Rev. Phil Kruse. Burial: St. Francis Cemetery, with military rites. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Kramer Funeral Home, Dyersville, with a scripture service at 5 p.m.

Survivors include brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Valeria Platz, Norma Deppe, Howard and Theresa Bruggemann and Lila and Frank Niday, all of Dyersville; and numerous nieces and nephews. .
