DYERSVILLE, Iowa - Ina L. Pape, 70, of Dyersville, died Saturday, Jan. 17, 2009, at her home following a sudden illness.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Jan. 23, at St. Francis Xavier Basilica, Dyersville, with the Rev. Phil Kruse officiating and Deacon Fred Pins assisting. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 9 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 22, at Kramer Funeral Home, Dyersville, where there will be a parish scripture service at 4 p.m.

She was born on June 19, 1938, in Dyersville, daughter of George and Inez (Fangman) Freitager. She married Jerome "Jerry" Pape on May 28, 1960, in Dyersville.

Ina graduated from Xavier High School in 1956. She received her registered nursing degree from Mercy School of Nursing in 1959, and in 1986, she received her BSN degree at St. Joseph's College, in Maine.

She took pleasure in gardening, painting, daily crossword puzzles, playing cards and having fun at the casinos. Ina liked watching "As the World Turns," "Wheel of Fortune," "The Price is Right" and the Dallas Cowboys. She loved evening rides in her golf cart and cherished the time spent fishing and morel mushroom hunting with her grandchildren.

Surviving are her husband, Jerry; two sons, Russell (Krista) Pape, of Marshalltown, and Jeffrey (Wanda) Pape, of Dyersville; four grandchildren, Tara (special friend, Joel Widdel) Pape, of Cedar Rapids, Ben (special friend, Elizabeth Kane) Pape, of Dubuque, Austin and Mariah Pape, both of Dyersville; two step-grandchildren, Stevie Hart, of Marshalltown, and Morgan (Mike) Strand, of Grimes; two step-greatgrandchildren, Madden Strand and Miles Hart; two brothers, John (Florence) Freitager, of Mounds View, Minn., Bernard "Doc" (special friend, Phyllis) Freitager, of Ranseur, N.C.; sisters and brothers-in-law, Carol (John) Krajnak, of Oak Creek, Wis., Mary Willenbring, of New Vienna, Lois (Jack) Gatto, of Palantine, Ill., Jim (Evelyn) Pape, of Bellevue, Neb., Oran (Ramona) Pape, of Dyersville, and Marty (Barb) Pape, of Olathe, Kan.; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother-in-law, Dave Willenbring; and her father and mother-in-law, Lewis and Bernice Pape.
