DYERSVILLE, Iowa -- Wilma A. Nurre, 86, of Dyersville, died Friday, Oct. 7, 2011, at Oak Crest Manor, Dyersville.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 11, at St. Francis Xavier Basilica, Dyersville. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Friends may call from 3 to 7 p.m. Monday, Oct. 10, at Kramer Funeral Home, Dyersville, where there will be a parish scripture service at 4 p.m.

She was born on Jan. 9, 1925, in Dyersville, daughter of Alfred and Amelia (Becker) Kister. She married Cleo B. Nurre on July 3, 1945, in Dyersville; he preceded her in death in 1999. Together they farmed in Dyersville until retiring in 1983.

She worked at Peakenbrock Sewing Factory and as a housekeeper at the Colonial Inn.

She loved to play bingo and cards.

Surviving are two daughters, Carol (Larry) Yudis, of Bettendorf, and Mary Ellen (Bill) Spoden, of Worthington; four grandchildren, Chris (Regetta) Yudis, Jessica Yudis, Randy (Betty) Spoden and Brad (Jeanne) Spoden; four great-grandchildren, Braden and Ashley Yudis and Cole and Rachel Spoden; in-laws, Ray (Joan) Nurre and Ralph (Lillian) Nurre, both of Dyersville, Norma Vaughn, of Dubuque, and Marian (Neil) White, of Monticello.

She also was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Flavia (Emery) Willenbring and Geralda (Albin) Bries; and in-laws, Rita Bockenstedt, Carolyn Nurre and Jay Vaughn.
