DYERSVILLE, Iowa - Glenda Nickol, 47, of Dyersville, died Friday, Nov. 29, 2002, at Mercy Medical Center-Dyersville, after a lengthy illness.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. Francis Xavier Basilica, Dyersville, with the Rev. Ed Petty officiating. Burial will be in St. Francis Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 9 p.m. Monday at Kramer Funeral Home, Dyersville, where there will be a parish scripture service at 4 p.m.

Mrs. Nickol worked at John Deere Dubuque Works for more than 25 years as a cost accounting supervisor.

She was born on March 28, 1955, in Manchester, daughter of Anselm and Mary (Hoeger) Willenborg. She married Gerald Nickol on Nov. 19, 1977, at Ss. Peter & Paul Catholic Church, Petersburg.

She graduated from Western Dubuque High School in 1973, and from Mount Mercy College in 1977, with degrees in education and accounting.

Her hobbies included traveling, gardening and quilting. She was active in school and parish boards and enjoyed attending school sports and activities.

Surviving are her husband, Jerry; two daughters, Terese and Lila Nickol, both at home; her parents, Anselm and Odeil Willenborg, of Dyersville; two brothers, Dennis (Carol Ann) Willenborg, of New Vienna, and Larry (LuAnn) Willenborg, of Petersburg; and two sisters, Zelda (Leon) Kluesner, of New Vienna, and Grace (Dan) Boatman, of Lakeville, Minn. Glenda also is survived by the Marvin Nickol family.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Mary Willenborg; her mother-in-law, Arlene Nickol; and two nephews, Kurt Kluesner and Mark Willenborg.

The family would prefer memorials and they will be given to St. Francis Xavier School, Beckman High School and Hospice of Dubuque.
