On May 26, 1941 he married Mabel Anderson of Fort Dodge. For five years they farmed near Manchester. They then moved to Florence, South Carolina where they lived for 2½ years. Last September they purchased the late W. L. Meyer farm southeast of Castalia where they have been farming since.

The funeral service was in charge of Mr. C. E. Anderson of Fort Dodge. Mrs. Ruth Nixon and Mrs. Florence Ballantyne, sisters of Mrs. Mabel Cocking, played the organ and violin. Mrs. Ballantyne sang two solos much loved by Cecil, "Great is Thy Faithfulness" and "Beyond the Sunset." Mr. Nixon and Mrs. Ballantyne also sang, "Jesus Lover of My Soul."
