Mrs. Sanford Lyman
After a weary and painful illness, covering a period of two years, Mrs. Sanford Lyman passed away at her home in this city Thursday night, December 15th, at the age of 54 years. The funeral of Mrs. Lyman was held from the family residence on Sunday morning at eleven o'clock, Rev. W.H. Ensign officiating. Burial was made in Oakland cemetery.
Ellen Jane Cowell was born at the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. George Cowell, in Prairie township, this county, September 5, 1856. On April 12, 1883, she was married to Sanford Lyman at the home of her brother, Wm. Cowell in Prairie township, and she and her husband moved at once to Mr. Lyman's farm in that township, where the family resided until two years ago, when they removed to this city. Mrs. Lyman is survived by her husband; her stepmother, Mrs. Louisa Cowell; four sons, Archie, Clarence, Oba and George Lyman; two sister, Mrs. W.L.Drew and Mrs. Harry Brown, both of this city; two brothers, Wm. and Henry Cowell also of this place; and a half sister, Mrs. Kate Cowell Brown of Palisades, Colorado.
