Laura Helen Vorrath, 83, of Yakima died Wednesday at Yakima Convalescent Center.

Mrs. Vorrath was born in Hopkinton, Iowa, and moved to the Yakima Valley in 1939. She owned and operated the Aero Cafe and Avenue Cafe, and later ran a day care in her home.

Survivors include five daughters, Nancy Herrell of Moxee, Margaret Coefer of Madison, Ala., Ruth Moen of Spokane, Katie Hosman of Gleed and Barbara Rockne of Richland; 20 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren and a great-great-grandchild.

The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Sunday at Keith & Keith Ninth Avenue chapel.
