Vigil service for Loren Albert Bauer, 82, will be at 7 p.m. today at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church. Funeral Mass is planned for 10 a.m. Friday at the church. Hennessey-Smith Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Bauer, who died Monday, was born in Dyersville, Iowa.

He owned Custom Laboratories and had lived in Spokane for 52 years.

He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, YMCA, the Moose, Elks and Eagles Lodges, St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church and the St. Vincent de Paul Society.

He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Marjory 'Margie' Bauer; five daughters, Carolyn Helton, Jeanette Boren, Bonnie McCollum, Lorie Silva and Terri Martin, all of Spokane; three brothers, Joseph Bauer of Paul, Idaho, Harold Bauer of Olalla, Wash., and James Bauer of Leslie, Idaho; two sisters, Hazel Clark of Blackfoot, Idaho, and Bernita Grady of Vaughn, Wash.; 12 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Poor Clare Nuns or the American Cancer Society.
