James Milton Satterlee of Maple Valley died June 18 in Auburn. He was 74.

Mr. Satterlee was born March 15, 1930 in Manchester Iowa. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1951 to 1954. He lived in south King County for 40 years and was self-employed as a cattle rancher.

In addition to his wife, Darlene, he is survived by his son, Jimmy Satterlee, and his daughters Judy Steffens and Jill Gabriel. He also is survived by several stepchildren: Eddie Fish, Lori Tegen, Lani Nickell and Karen McDonald. He also is survived by the mother of his children, Anita Gischer. He was the grandfather of 12 children and great-grandfather to two. He was preceded in death by his parents, Marion and Mildred Satterlee, and his sister, Marilyn.

An urn committal service will take place at 3 p.m. Tuesday at Tahoma National Cemetery. Burial will take place at National Cemetery. Arrangements are by Yahn & Son Funeral Home in Auburn.
