Funeral services were held at the Earlville Methodist church at 1:30 p.m. Friday, July 21 for Mrs. Mary Ham, age 85, who died at Fairview Nursing in Manchester on Tuesday afternoon, July 18. The Clifton Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements and burial was made in Fairview cemetery here. Dr. C. B. Rogers sang "Have Thine Own Way" and "Saved by Grace" with Miss Susan Slick as organist. The pastor, the Rev. Wm. Brown gave the funeral sermon. Pall bearers were: Francis Carty, John Elliott, W. W. Keith, Glen Merrick, Clarence Powell and Lawrence Powell.

Mrs. Ham a lifelong resident of this community had been making her home at the Nursing Home for the past year. She was married to Frank Burrow who died in February 1930. Later she was married to Herbert Ham who died 9 years ago. Mrs. Ham was a member of the Earlville Methodist church for many years and also the WSCS of that church.

Mary Duschner, daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. John Duschner was born at Petersburg, Iowa Sept. 3, 1875. She is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Dyer (Hazel) Bent of Evanston, Ill.; Mrs. Russell (Maryella) Merrick of Muscatine and Mrs. Charles (Buelah) Carty of Earlville, seven grandchildren and seventeen great grandchildren; Two sisters, Mrs. Lymaan McCaughy of Santa Monica, Calif.; and Mrs. Barbara Goodwin of Venice, Calif. Relatives and friends from out of town who attended the funeral were: Mrs. Dyer Bent of Evanston, Ill; James Merrick of Rockford, Ill.; Messers and Mesdames: Russell Merrick of Muscatine, Floyd Fox and family and Fletcher Schutt and family of Davenport, John Elliott of Edgewood, Charles Schwartz of Manchester, Edward Steger and A. L. Vogel of Dyersville, Mrs. Mabel Jackson of Delhi, Archie Robinson of Manchester, Charles and Frank Hicks of Early, David Robinson of Dennison and Mr. McGilligot of Ryan.
