A Pioneer Is Called
George Arbegust Died at His Home Last Sunday

George Arbegust, who had been very low for some weeks, died Sunday morning. Mr. Arbegust had been in ill health for several years but was taken worse about 2 months ago and has been confined to his bed since. It was apparent that the end was near and on Saturday the family was sent for.

Deceased was born in Ohio, February 13, 1835. In 1845 he came to Delaware county with his grandparents, his parents having previously died. He was married to Julia Whitney on Jan. 19, 1858.2 children were born to them, Mrs. Emma Rich of Des Moines, and Dayton Arbegust of Lamont. His companion died in 1878, and on June 29, 1881, he married again, this time to Mrs. Chloe Palmer, who survives him. To them were born 1 child, John, who died August 22, 1887.

Mr. Arbegust was converted about 30 years ago and was a regular attendant at church services but never became a member of any church. He lived an honest. conscientious life as an example to those who knew him.

The funeral was held from the Free Baptist church on Monday, The sermon preached by Rev. A. C. Zabriski, of Stanley, an old friend of the deceased, the pastor, Rev. J. L. Taber?, assisting, and the body was laid to rest in the cemetery at Campton.
