He was put there because Amy couldn't care for him anymore. He had diabetes pretty bad, from what I heard from other cousins. I also want to add Rosemary, that Amy didn't die in 1900. She was still around in the 1920 census as living with her daughter and son-in-law. The facts you can find in the census from certain years. She was not a biological brother or any blood relation to the Lyle family that I know of. She was their servant girl in the 1880 census. I am trying to put together in my own mind, just where they met and got her to be their servant girl. Either in Illinois or Iowa, I don't know. There are so many Emma Jennings in that time period.
