School and land research

I am trying to locate what schools my grandfather would have attended. Born in 1893. He was in college (Drake) in 1914. I was always told he was from Leon. However newspaper clippings indicate he was from Davis City. I would also like to track down land holdings information. His mother Alice Marble (maiden McCord, 2nd marriage Flora)) was a widow but there are several references in the Leon Reporter to The Alice Marble farm. I believe it to be in the vicinity of 5 miles East of Davis City, 5 miles North of Pleasenton, and 9 miles South of Leon. What resources can I use online?
