1. William N. came with his parents to Clark County, Indiana in 1820. Here his father established a home that was singularly known far reaching influence of culture and refinement. The
beautiful brick home with its spacious lawns, lovely flowers and shrubbery, was only a prelude to the fineness of character of those who dwelled within.

2. Wm N. on May 10, 1831, married Emily House, daughter of Rev. Jacob and Catherine
Buttolph House (Methodist). There these young people established their home, entering immediately into the religious, social and civic life of the community. There seven of Thier eight children were born, but desiring to better the opportunities of their fast growing family, they decided on going west. It was in the spring of 1853, when they came to Henry County, Iowa, settling two miles west of Marshall (now Wayland), purchasing a farm of ample proportions for the home site, situated on the main highway. They purchase another and larger farm on the Skunk River bottom, one mile to the southwest.
The house there, like its predecessor in Indiana was an outstanding one in the community. They immediately identified themselves with the small band of struggling Christians (United Brethren), became an influence for good in the community and left an Heritage to posterity for which we are grateful". from Helen King's" Pangburn Family Tree","Grandfather Pangburn's Family".
