One of my favorite pieces of furniture since I was a small child was a
walnut cupboard made by my great-great-grandfather, James Curry, who died in
the fall of 1887 and is buried at Lentz Cemetery. Before long it will be in
the home of one of Great-great-grandpa Curry's heirs, and I realized I have
no idea where around Woodland the Curry family lived. That would be a nice
piece of history to add to the piece. Can anyone help me? Is there an Atlas
for Decatur Co prior to 1910 or so (his wife died in 1904) that would show
land ownership? If anyone can help, I would be happy to pay for copying and
postage for an old map with ownership of land of the area around Woodland

James and his second wife, Arabella Hartman Houseman and their daughters
Mary Curry (who married Tom Riddle) and Mattie Curry (who married Talbot
Knowles moved to the Woodland area sometime after Mattie's birth in Highland
Co OH in 1862. Also traveling with them were James son from a first
marriage, William Andrew Curry and a son David Houseman the son of Arabella
from her first marriage. William Curry married Minerva Ellen Riddle (sister
of Tom Riddle), and their only surviving child was my grandmother Cora Curry
(First, Mrs. William Woods and after that for a short while before they were
divorced, Mrs. Eugene Massey).

Thanks everyone!
Gayle
