Cole-Edwards genealogy

I'm trying to determine who the Wm Cole was in the 1860 census with Rebecca Anderson and her Edwards children, Freeland Edwards, Benton Edwards, etc. Rebecca moved from Mulberry Gap, Hancock Co., TN to Iowa sometime shortly after the 1850 census. Freeland Edwards was a preacher in Decauter Iowa for many years, according to his obit that is on this site. I need to know who the Wm Cole was and where he got to after 1860.
