Can anybody provide any family links to the following person? Thanks for any clues.

Listed in Guy E. Logan's HISTORICAL SKETCH THIRTY-NINTH REGIMENT IOWA VOLUNTEER INFANTRY is the following person:

Wright, Martin V. Age 28. Residence Leon, nativity Illinois. Enlisted Aug. 22, 1862. Mustered
Aug. 22, 1862. Taken prisoner Dec. 30, 1862, Shady Grove, Tenn. Mustered out June 5, 1865,
Washington, D. C.

I believe this is the Martin Vanburen Wright born 16 April 1833 in Farmington, Fulton County, Illinois, and married to Margaret Delia Davis on 15 September 1859 in Bow, Ross County, Ohio. So, what is he doing in Leon, Decatur County, Iowa in 1862?
