THOMAS MCCAULL RIDDLE, son of SAMUEL and ELIZABETH RIDDLE, was born in Hyland County, Ohio, April 8, l848, and passed away at his home in Woodland Township, Decatur County, Iowa, Dec. ll, l920, aged 72 years, 8 months and 3 days.

MR. RIDDLE came to Iowa with his parents in l85l, when he was only three years of age. He was married to MARY A. CURRY on May 4, l879, and to this union were born four children. The mother and two children preceded him in death, and he leaves to mourn his departure, his two children, MARK T. and HILDA M., one brother, A.J. RIDDLE, and three sisters, MRS. GABE MARICK, MRS. MYRA SCHWAB and MRS. GEORGE E. SAPP, besides a host of other relatives and friends.

The deceased still owned and passed away on the farm known as the old RIDDLE homestead which his father entered from the Government, having lived there practically all of his life. He was very successful as a farmer and stock raiser, and was one of the influential citizens of his community.

Funeral services were held at the home on Monday, conducted by A.L. Sears, interment being in the Lentz Cemetery.
