Thursday, May 6, l920DAVID FRANKLIN SNOOK, son of ISRAEL and NANCY SNOOK, was born near Fairfield, in Jefferson County, Iowa, April l5, l846; departed this life April l6, l920, being at the time of his death, 74 years and l day old. He was married to MARGARET A. GREENLAND at Fairfield, Iowa, on March 30, l869. They moved immediately to a farm north of Fairfield where they resided until April 20, l872, when they moved to Decatur County, where they lived until March l0th, l873, moving to Ringgold County where they resided until September, l875, moving to Decatur County and purchased the farm where he lived at the time of his death. This was his home for forty-five years.
To this union were born ten children, seven daughters and three sons. Two daughters and two sons were called in their youth to that better home. He leaves to mourn his departure, two brothers and two sisters, a loving wife, five daughters and one son: MRS. LAURA ADAMS, Van Wert, Iowa; MRS. JENNIE BRIGHT, Denver, Colorado; MRS. MINNIE HAYES, Isabel, South Dakota; MRS. ALMA WOOKEY, MRS. JESSIE VANDERPOOL and FORREST SNOOK, all of Grand River. Besides his children, he leaves ten grandchildren and one great grandchild and a host of friends and neighbors.
He accepted Christ as his Savior about six years ago and united with Pleasant Valley Baptist Church where he remained a member until death. He had been in poor health for so many years but bore all his suffering with great patience, always thinking of the welfare of
those who cared for him, always looking on the bright side and leaving this world in perfect peace.Funeral services were held at Grand River Baptist Church on Monday, April l9th, conducted by Rev. A.L. Harper. Interment was in Grand River Cemetery.
