Thursday, April l, l920SARAH ANN STEWART, subject of this sketch was born near Leon, Iowa, June 30, l856; departed this life March 25, l920, aged 63 years, 8 months and 25 days.
She was the seventh child of a family of thirteen children, seven girls and six boys of PETER C. and HARRIET STEWART. Two sisters and four brothers are still living, JOHN W. STEWART, of Lebanon, Mo.; MRS. P.S. DETRICK, of South of Leon; JAMES T. STEWART, of northwest of Leon; HARVEY L. STEWART, of Stillwater, Oklahoma; MRS. GEO. W. SANGER, of Leon, and L. ERWIN STEWART, of northeast of Leon.On June l5, l876, she was united in marriage to ED. D. PARKER. To this union were born six children, MRS. BEN T. SEARS, of northeast of Leon; JOHN H. PARKER, of Des Moines; BERT S. PARKER, of Chillicothe, Mo.; PETER O. PARKER, of south of Davis City; RAYMOND S. and ARTHUR E. PARKER, both ex-service men of the late war, staying at the home in Leon. Also eight grandchildren and a host of friends to mourn her passing as her friends were numbered by her acquaintances.
In l877, she moved with her husband to Ringgold County where they resided two years, after which they located on a farm four miles east of Leon, where they made their home until l9l4, when they moved to Davis City, where they lived two years, after which they moved to Leon, where she spent the remaining four years of her life. She was a great sufferer for some time before her departure, but bore it with patience and fortitude and was conscious to the last.
She united with the Church of the Brethren in the fall of l9l3 to which she remained a faithful and consistent Christian the remainder of her days, adhering strictly to the precepts and teachings of her chosen faith. Interment in Leon Cemetery. Funeral services conducted by Rev. Lewis Sears.

Wherein our Heavenly Father in his infinite wisdom has seen fit to remove from our midst MRS. ED PARKER, a loving and faithful member of our Woman's Missionary Society of the Leon Brethren Church.Be it Resolved, that we extend to the bereaved relatives our deepest sympathy in this, their dark hour, and commend them to God who alone can comfort in this, their hour of trial.
Be it further Resolved, that a copy of these resolutions be sent the bereaved family, also a copy spread upon the records of the W.M.S. minutes.
