Thursday, April l, l920JANE PRETTYMAN MONROW WOODARD was born July l9, l847, in Ohio, and died March 27, l920, aged 72 years, 8 months and 6 days. She came with her parents from Ohio to Iowa in l850. She spent her childhood in Des Moines County, later coming to Decatur County. She was married to CHARLES C. MONROW, who died after one month. She mourned his loss seventeen and one-half years. One daughter was born to them, MRS. A.H. SWISHER, of Decatur City. She was married to A.C. WOODARD, who departed this life September l8th, l9l8. To this union two children were born: LOVIE N. WOODARD and MRS. ELIZABETH CRAN, of Decatur City. Two grandchildren survive her.
She gave herself to God some twenty-five years ago. First she united with the United Brethren Church and later she united with the Christian Church. She tried to do good to others. She was a good neighbor. She is gone but not forgotten. She leaves to mourn her loss, three children, two grandchildren and a host of friends and neighbors. Funeral services were conducted from the Christian Church, March 30th, l920, Rev. Henry Esch, of Cainsville, officiating. Interment was in Woodmansee Cemetery.
