The community and town extends sympathy to the bereaved home of MR. CHARLES PEUGH. The grim messenger visited them during the festive season and took away the flower of their home and hearts. FLORENCE ETHEL PEUGH was born on the PEUGH farm five miles north of Leon on August l9, l892. Her mother died when she was a small girl and it is a fact worthy to observe that mother and daughter each passed away in their twenty-seventh year. FLORENCE enjoyed good health though she was crippled in normal growth by a deformed spine. She was taken ill on December 24th. The doctor was called twice on Christmas day and her condition was realized to be exceedingly serious, very slight hopes being entertained for her recovery. She suffered intensely, but was exceptionally brave and as one close neighbor expressed it, she lived with a smile and died with a smile.

On January lst, l920, she passed away to the church triumphant where loved ones awaited her upon the celestial shore. She was 27 years, 4 months and l2 days of age. She experienced the call of the Savior to her soul during the Union meetings about three years ago, and immediately joined membership in the M.E. Church, and was faithful to all her vows. She leaves her father as chief mourner, also many relatives and a host of friends. Blessed are the dead who die in the Lord. The funeral services were conducted by her Pastor, Rev. Jervis, at the home. The whole community attended and paid their respects. Interment was made in the Johnson Cemetery.
