Thursday, December 4, l9l9MRS. EMMA A. BLACK, formerly of Davis City, died Monday of last week at the home of her sister, MRS. P.E. SHIRLEY, at Osceola, after an illness of two weeks. Her three sons and their wives were at the the bedside of their mother at the end. The Osceola Democrat last week published the following concerning the death of MRS. BLACK:
MRS. EMMA A. BLACK passed away at the home of her sister, MRS. P.E. SHIRLEY at the Howe Hotel, Monday afternoon at l o'clock after a severe illness of more than two weeks. Her three sons, their wives and families were with her during her illness and at her bedside at the time of her passing away. MRS. BLACK has made her home at the hotel for the past several months and will be greatly missed by her friends, for to know MRS. BLACK was to love her. She was one of those dear old ladies who always had a pleasant word and smile for everyone. She had reached the age of 7l years, 5 months and ll days. The body was taken to the old home, Davis City, Wednesday, and the funeral held at the M.E. Church at 2 o'clock.
