Thursday, September 25, l9l9Word was received by J.H. RYAN of this city that his niece, MRS. BERT BUPPS, and little daughter were burned to death at their home in Shattuck, Oklahoma. The particulars are as follows: MRS. BUPPS had been canning tonatoes. She was tired and lay down to rest with her little boy and fell asleep. When she awakened she discovered the house was on fire. She carried the little boy into the yard, returning for the little girl when the walls fell in. She was enveloped in the flames, but managed in some way to get out into the yard. When help arrived, they found her with her clothing burned off all but her shoes. The little girl was burned in the house.
MRS. BUPPS was born in Clarke County, and was the daughter of MR. and MRS. W.W. TRISLER.
