Ellree Monroe Brown

Ellree Monroe Brown, son of John L. and Rosa Fogleman Brown was born Sept. 29, 1900, near Grand River, Iowa and passed away at the Clarke County Hospital, Osceola, Iowa on Aug. 8, 1981, at the age of 80 years, 10 months, and 10 days.

On November 11, 1924, he was united in marriage to Mary L. Greenland. They celebrated their Golden Wedding Anniversary in 1974. They were blessed with six children: Harold of Tingley; Max of Creston; Lieu of Prescott; Ronnie of New Virginia; Gene of Leon; and Rosemary Stark of Grand River.

Preceding him in death were 2 sisters and one brother: Opal, Rolla, and Della Vanderpool; and a granddaughter.

He is survived by two brothers: Leonard of Mount Ayr and Arnold of Leon; 15 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. He belonged to the Pleasant Valley Baptist Church.
