Morgan, George McKinnley, 62, Newton, formerly resident of Garden Grove, died May 23. Service in charges of Slade Funeral Home; was conducted from United Church of Garden Grove May 26 with Rev. Mr. James Fedlam officiating. Burial was in Garden Grove Cemetery.

George McKinley Morgan
George McKinley Morgan, sixth child of Carl and Zella Smith Morgan, was born near Garden Grove, Iowa October 6, 1918.
He attended Garden Grove consolidated school. He was joined in marriage to Gieula McCullough in 1941.
He left farming in Decatur County and moved his family to Newton, Iowa where he was employed by the Maytag Company for twenty-two years.
He leaves his wife, Gieula; son, Tom, of Hartford, Iowa; and daughter, Kathy, Grinnell, Iowa; daughter in law Donna; son in law, Phillip Lender; three grandsons: Christopher Morgan, Michael and Ryan Lender; his mother, Zella Morgan, of Ottumwa, Iowa; two brothers: John and Richard; nine sisters: Grace Scott, Lois Jones, Frances Bonds, Virginia Lasley, Betty Braby, Eloise McKern, Juanita Leonard, Beverly Petty, and Patricia Poole; also nieces and nephews; other relatives, friends, and neighbors.
Preceding him in death were his father, Carl; two brothers: Guy and Bill; and one sister, Marjorie.
George spent his last remaining days in the Iowa Veteran's Home at Marshalltown, Iowa where he died May 23, 1981, aged 62 years, 7 months, and 18 days.
