Flavius Sharp
Flavius Josephus Sharp was born April 11, 1989, on a farm north of Eagleville, Missouri, and passed away at the Lamoni Manor in Lamoni, Iowa May 1, 1989, at the age of 100 years and 20 days. He was the oldest child of Benjamin B. and Ida (Jones) Sharp.

On January 1, 1914, he was united in marriage to Florence Viola Brown at the home of her mother, Mrs. Mary (Gray) Brown, Elder Henry Stebbins officiated.

He was a graduate of the Eagleville High School when the school offered a two-year high school course and then again when it became a four-year high school. He attended a normal school in Bethany, Missouri which entitled him to become a teacher in the rural schools of Harrison County, Missouri. He always enjoyed discussing educational topics.

He looked forward to and helped plan his 100th birthday observance. During most of his life, he was engaged in farming and raising chickens. He and his constant companion "Vi" always raised a huge garden. He was an avid supporter of the Farm Bureau and all community and church activities.

Flavius was a faithful member of the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, holding the office of priest.

Preceding him in death were his parents Ben and Ida Sharp, his brothers Grover and Oscar, his sisters Nellie Bonner and Ruby Marshall, and his devoted wife "Vi."

He is survived by his brother Glenn Sharp and his wife Ruby of Bedford, Iowa, a sister-in-law Audie Sharp of Lamoni, Iowa, a brother-in-law Max Marshall of Denver, Colorado, and a nephew Jack Marshall who resided in their home for a few years. He is also survived by nieces and nephews and a host of friends to mourn his passing.
