Minnie Ladine Palmer, age 92, of Leon, Iowa, was the first child of Mortica Alley and Ora May (McDaniel) Richardson, born on March 10, 1930, in rural Decatur County, Iowa. She died at Westview Acres Care Center in Leon, Iowa on August 30, 2022.

Ladine, as she was known, attended schools in Decatur County and graduated from Leon High School with the Class of 1948. On January 14, 1951, she married Harold Eugene Palmer. They were blessed with four children, Keith Eugene, Terry Duane, Ricky Joe, and Linda Kay. Ladine was a wife, mother, and homemaker before spending 25 years working at O’Bryan Brothers in Leon.

Preceding her in death were her parents, mother, Ora in 1943 and father, Mort in 1976; infant twin sisters in 1932; brother, Basil Richardson; grandson, infant Travis Duane Palmer in 1995; daughter-in-law, Brenda Jean (Haroldson) Palmer in 2002; and niece, Lisa Blakeburn. Survivors include her children, Keith & Sandy Palmer of Van Wert, Iowa, Terry Palmer of Earlham, Iowa, Rick & Joan Palmer of Norwalk, Iowa, and Linda & David Redman of Leon, Iowa; grandchildren, Shana Palmer, Laura & David O’Donnell, Teresa Palmer, Brent Redman & friend, Michelle Derossett, Erica & Scott Mineart, and Clint & Reagen Redman; great grandchildren, McKenna, Hannah, Elliott, Bradley, Taylon, Jorden, Turner, Nolan, Preslee, Lexi & Nick, Morgan, Alyssa, Charlie, Morgan, Piper, and Crew; nieces and nephews; and other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held at the Slade – O’Donnell Funeral Home in Leon, Iowa at 10 a.m. Friday, September 2, 2022, with Pastor Terry D. Roberts officiating. Burial will be in the Leon Cemetery, Leon, Iowa.
