FLORENCE WALDEN
Florence Poff was born to Margaret Kelly Poff and Samuel Poff on October 1, 1900, at Pueblo, Colo. Florence’s health had been failing and on June 5, 1976, she entered Lamoni Manor Rest Home where she died June 19, 1976.

Florence grew up and attended school at Glenwood Springs, Colo., and when she was 14 the family moved to Manville, Wyo., where she attended high school.

In the summer of 1920 Florence was called to Goodland, Kansas to help a recently widowed uncle with his young family. While there, she met Art Walden who had gone to Kansas to work in the harvest fields. They were married in Goodland on February 24, 1921, and lived there through that summer.

They moved to Lamoni in the fall and when Art couldn't find work in the area they moved to Wisconsin where he worked on a dairy farm. The next year they came back to Lamoni, Art found employment and they remained here.

To this union, three children were born: Laverne of Germany; Everett of Winona, Minn.; and Yvonne (Mrs. Robert Hynden) of Lamoni.

Florence was baptized early in their marriage into the RLDS Church and remained faithful and active in church activities until her death. She was active in club work and belonged to As You Like It, Omnes Amicae, and Lamplighters.

Survivors include her three children; daughters-in-law, Pat Walden of Fayetteville and Shirley Walden of Winona, Minn.; son-in-law, Robert B. Hynden, Lamoni; nine grandchildren, Steve Walden, David Walden and wife Debbie, Bettie Hardwick, Mike Walden, Bob Hynden and wife Joyce, Doug Hynden and wife Karen, Dana Snethen and husband Bruce, Jim Hynden and wife Pam, and Linda Hynden; three great-grandchildren, Morgan Hardwick and Shellie and Lisa Hynden; two sisters, Maye Baker and Ruth Luft, Brighton, Col; one brother, Bill of Manville, Wyo.; other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were held at the Lamoni RLDS Church on June 21, 1976, with Lamoni Funeral Home in charge. Elders Willard Moon and Harold Tabor officiated and interment was in Rose Hill Cemetery.
