Thursday, February 8, l9l7CLIDA GERTRUDE MCCROSKEY was born at Decatur, Iowa, June ll, l87l. Died January 26, l9l7, at Anamosa, Iowa. She spent a greater part of her life here, but later made her home at Anamosa, Iowa. She became a member of the Methodist Church early in life and lived a Christian life in the true meaning of the teaching of the Bible. She was a member of the Epworth League. She was librarian of the Sunday School several times. She was a member of the Rebecca Lodge, of which order she was a Past Grand.
She was one of a family of eleven, mother, father, step-mother, two sisters, three brothers and two step-sisters. The mother and one sister have passed away and those remaining to mourn her going are her father, step-mother, IDA M. WALKER, SOLON D., CHARLES C., SAMUEL A., MRS. CHARLES C. MCCROSKEY and MRS. ED. H. PECK. Thus passed away our dear child and sister.
Funeral services were held from the Decatur Methodist Episcopal Church Wednesday afternoon, January 3lst. On account of the absence of Rev. Perkins the local Pastor, Rev. Moser, of Leon, had charge of the services. The burial took place in the Decatur Cemetery.
