FRANCES ANN RENNER, daughter of EMANUEL and ELIZABETH RENNER, was born in Illinois, May 3, l850, and died at Decatur City, Iowa, January 26, l9l7, aged 66 years, 8 months and 23 days. She moved with her parents to Hamilton County, Iowa, in the year l854, and to Decatur County, Iowa, in l868.

She was married to JOHN D. GARDNER, January 22, l876, who departed this life September 8, l9l5. Five children were born to this union, MRS. NINA GRAVES, of Decatur City, Iowa; C.L. GARDNER, of Centerville, Iowa; MRS. BESSIE FISHER, of Leon; J.L. GARDNER, of Ringsted, and FRANCES B., of Decatur, who were all with her during her last illness. Five sisters and two brothers were also left to mourn her death. She was converted and joined the M.E. Church in the year, l893, and has ever since lived a consistent Christian life.

Funeral services were held at the Decatur M.E. Church, Sunday, January 28th, at 2 o'clock, conducted by Rev. Forest H. Perkins, the Pastor, interment being in the Decatur Cemetery by the side of her husband, who died a few months ago.
