LOSSON CUMMINS MCKERN, son of B.A. and SARAH MCKERN, was born in Leon, Iowa, March l8th, l877, and died at Tripp, South Dakota, October 9, l9l6, aged 39 years, 7 months and 9 days.

His mother and father preceded him to the grave by several years. He leaves to mourn his loss, two brothers, CHAS. A. MCKERN and WILLIAM HENRY MCKERN, both of Leon; also four nieces and five nephews and a host of friends and near relatives.

LOSSON spent his boyhood days in Decatur County, making his home with his brother, CHARLES, on whom falls the heaviest of this burden.

Four years ago, LOSSON MCKERN left Decatur County to make his home in the Dakotas, and with the exception of a visit back to Leon, remained there until his death which came as a great shock to his relatives and friends.
