DANIEL E. TUTTLE was born April 25th, l840, at Strafford, N.H., where he spent his childhood and early youth, coming to Garden Grove, Iowa, when 23 years of age, and making his home with an uncle, OLIVER TUTTLE.

In the year l876, he was united in marriage to MISS MINERVA JORDAN, of Garden Grove, and they located in Van Wert, where they have spent the greater part of their married life and have made many intimate friends. At the age of 35 years, he became interested in his soul's salvation and experienced conversion but he did not unite with the church until five years later and then with the Evangelical Church at Ellston, Iowa, during three years residence there. Later he transferred his church membership to the Methodist Church at Van Wert, where he was a member at the time of death.

DANIEL TUTTLE passed from this life on the l3th day of November, l9l6, at the age of 67 years, 6 months and l8 days, after a declining illness that lasted for more than four years.

The wife and two sons, HARRY O. and ALVAH J., with the latter's families, were present at the hour of death, as was also his cousin, MRS. LIZZIE MILLEY, his only known relative west of New Hampshire. The funeral services were held Wednesday by Rev. Weyranuch, and the body laid to rest in the Van Wert Cemetery.
