Thursday, September 28, l9l6Several telegrams received in Lineville last Friday notified friends and relatives of the death of COL. WASSON in an automobile accident near his home at Willard, Oklahoma, on the day previous. MR. WASSON was born and reared in Lineville and made that place his home until the past ten years, when he has been living on a farm near Willard. No details of the accident have been received, as none of the family accompanied the body further than Enid, Oklahoma. His daughter, UARDA, was keeping house for him at the time of his death, and immediately after the accident, his mother, accompanied by his brother-in-law, BEN SINDERSON, came from their home in Denver to Willard, and took her home with them, shipping the body to Lineville.
MR. WASSON was about forty-five years old. His first wife was MISS NELLIE KING, of Lineville, who passed away several years ago, leaving two little girls, UARDA and CLAIRE. The younger of the two children, CLAIRE, has been spending the past year with her gradfather, T.F. KING, of Corydon, and will continue to make that place her home.
The body was taken directly to the cemetery from the train where short services were held in the presence of a host of friends and relatives.
