ELLEN VICTORIA CAMPBELL, daughter of WILLIAM and ANNA CAMPBELL was born near Leon, Iowa, November 3, l86l, and died at her home seven miles southeast of Leon, September l2, l9l6, being at the time of her death, 54 years, l0 months and 22 days of age. She was married to WM. MOORE, March 8, l885, to which union were born six children of which two have preceded her to the spirit land.

GRACE OLIVE, born August 6, l886; died December 5, l9l3. WALTER L., born February 23, l888. EFFA V., born June 2, l890; died March l5, l89l. PERRY O., born February 20, l892. HAZEL L., Born September l0, l894. VIOLET FERN, born April l2, l898.

All of her early life was spent at the old home. She was a successful school teacher and her friends were numbered by her acquaintances. She was converted in July, l889, and united with the New Salem Church and has lived a devoted and consistent Christian life until death. In her death, the children give up a faithful and loving mother; the husband a kind companion, and the community one of the best citizens. Funeral services were conducted at the New Salem Church by her Pastor from the scriptural text, "For we know that if our earthly house, etc.", 2 Corinthians, 5-l. In the presence of a large and sorrowing congregation, after which the remains were laid to rest in the New Salem Cemetery to await the resurrection morn.
