LAMONI, Iowa. Grant Snethen, 84, died Monday morning at his farm home in northern Harrison County, Mo.

He was born in Decatur, Iowa, on Nov. 4, 1900, and had moved to his farm in 1927. He was a retired farmer and a member of the Lamoni R.L.D.S. Church.

Surviving are his wife, Mary Tennery Snethen of the home. They were married on Aug. 15, 1923 at Chickasha, Okla.

Additional survivors include four daughters, Virginia Sponsler, Humeston, Iowa, Margaret Gibson, Tulsa, Okla., Norma Ward, Holden, Mo., and Ina Lou Myrick, Blue Springs, Mo.; two sons, Earl Snethen, Davis County, Iowa, and Thomas Snethen, Endwell, N.Y.; five brothers, Mason Snethen, Grand River, Iowa, Otis Snethen, Frank Snethen, Luther Snethen, and Clarence Snethen, all of Lamoni; two sisters, Neva Ballantyne and Esther Williams, both of Lamoni; 25 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Lamoni R.L.D.S. Church with burial in the Rose Hill Cemetery at Lamoni. Arrangements are under the direction of the Lamoni Funeral Home where friends may call anytime. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 this evening at the Lamoni Chapel.
