HAROLD LUNBECK, adopted son of MISS CORA
LUNBECK, passed away at Ames
last Tuesday morning following an operation
for appendicitis. He had
been in a critical condition for some days
following the operation and
his death was not unexpected. MR. LUNBECK
visited in Leon at Christmas
time with relatives and friends. He had been
attending the State
College at Ames for some time and was there
when the illness came. The
attack was a very severe one and he was
hurried to the hospital where an
operation was performed but his condition was
such that he was unable to
recover from the ordeal and his death came
after a several days fight
for life. The death of this young man is
particularly sad.

He was adopted by MISS LUNBECK when he was
just a few years old and she
had cared for and educated him. He had made
a splendid record in school
and was one of the brightest and most popular
students at Ames.
His many friends here are deeply grieved.
The funeral was held
Wednesday afternoon at Mason City. Mrs. C.M.
Ketcham and MRS. J.W.
Rowell, of Leon, attended the funeral.
