ELLEN SUTHERLIN, wife of JAMES E. SUTHERLIN, died at her residence in
Burrell Township September 25, l899, and was buried in Terre Haute
Cemetery the day following. The funeral services were conducted by Rev.
A. Miller.
MRS. SUTHERLIN had been ailing for about one year with that dread
disease, consumption, and death was not unexpected. She was the
daughter of MARGARET MILLER and was born February 5, l864. She married
J.E. SUTHERLIN November 2, l880, and to this union were born seven
children, four of whom with husband and an aged mother, as well as
several brothers and sisters, are left to mourn her departure.
We would say, grieve not, to the large circle of relatives and friends,
for she has gone home to a kind and loving Father's care. She has
finished her work here and gone to rest. May each of us live that we
may meet with her on the evergreen shores of eternal bliss. Peace to
her memory.
