I do not know who this is, but I found it in the Bible of
my grandmother. Maybe it will fit somewhere for
someone. In fact I am not sure if this has not been on
here before. Oh well, better send than not I guess.
Thanks Wanda

Death of Cyrus M. Adams

Cyrus Marion Adams was born in Keokuk co, Iowa
October 8 1873, and came to Decatur County,
Iowa, with his parents when quite young, and grew up
to manhood near Tuskeego. Cyrus' father died
some years ago and left his family to battle the
hardships of life, and the boys did what they could to
care for their mother and sisters.

Three years ago last March Cyrus started west and
went to Clark Co., Kansas, and had most of the time
been employed by G.N. Davis, until last Novmber on
Thanksgiving day he took a load of goods to
Flemington, MO, for Mr. Davis' brother-in-law; he
spent the winter there, and started back from
Flemington to Cimarron, Kansas, when on the way
back he took sick what the Dr. called pneuimonia,
and the party that was with him cared for him the best
that circumstances would permit. On May 8th they
arrived at Bartlesville, Oklahoma, and there among
strangers he died May 9th, without money or friends ,
in his wagon, four hundred miles from home, being
35 years, 7 months and 1 day old. Mr. Adams was a
member if the Yeoman order, and carried a policy of
a thousand dollars, in favor of his mother. Until his
departure from Cimarron, Kansas he was foreman of
the order there.

Elder J.J. Ruppert, of Leon, went to Oklahoma and
brought Mr. Adams back to his home, and on Friday
at 11 a.m. he was buried in the Lamoni cemetery
with a very short service at the grave. He leaves a
loving mother, three sisters and two brothers, with a
host of friends to mourn his untimely death. The
bereaved family have the sympathy of the entire
community.

As there are no other dates on the obit but his birth. I
figure he died about 1900.
