OBITUARY ~ BETTY "COLLEEN" (BOLES) KASTLER

Betty Colleen KASTLER, daughter of the late Zell BOLES and Marie (HATFIELD) BOLES, was born March 22, 1939 in Clarke County, Iowa and died Dec. 11, 1991 at Mercy Hospital in Des Moines Iowa, age 52.

Colleen grew up in Decatur County, Iowa, graduating from Van Wert High School in Van Wert, Iowa, in 1957. From there she went to work in Des Moines where she met Howard KASTLER. They were united in marriage on March 8, 1963. They were the parents of one daughter, Tina.

Colleen and Howard ran their own restaurant for at time in Van Wert called Kastler’s Kove. The couple lived most of their lived in Van Wert, but lived in Loveland, CO, for a few years before returning to Van Wert.

Colleen’s main occupation was in the restaurant line of work. She was currently employed at the Hy-Vee Deli in Osceola, Iowa.

Preceding her in death was her father, Zell BOLES, who died on Nov. 21, 1991.

Surviving are her husband Howard KASTLER, Van Wert; mother Marie BOLES, Van Wert; Daughter Tina KASTLER, Lamoni, Iowa; two grandsons: Ransom and Billy WHITHAM, Lamoni; sister Caroleen CLIFTON and husband Dallas, Osceola; niece Chris CLIFTON, Osceola; brother-in-law Donnie KASTLER of northern Iowa; other relatives and friends.
