Decatur County Journal
January 7, l892
DIED--At her home in Cherryvale, Kansas, December 27, l89l, MRS. MINNIE BARBER, wife of GEO. BARBER and daughter of MR. and MRS. W.H. CLARK, of Leon. MINNIE CLARK was born in Spring Valley, Decatur County, in l865, and moved with her parents when a little child to Davis City, where she passed her girlhood days. She was married to G. BARBER in October, l885, and went with him to Kansas last spring.

She had a severe attack of la grippe and was sick only a short time. Her remains were brought to Davis City and interred in the family burying ground. She was conscious to the last and expressed herself as ready and willing to go.

She leaves her parents, two brothers, a husband and two little boys--one a babe a month old--besides a large circle of friends and relatives to
mourn her early death. Words are helpless to express the grief of her sorrow-stricken friends. She was the only and idolized daughter of her
fond parents and the pride of her loving brothers. MINNIE, as she was familiarly known, was always bright and cheerful, had a kind word for
all. She was ever familiar and kind to both rich and poor alike and was ever the life and leader in her circle of friends, and for many a long day will the bright smile and winning voice of MINNIE live in the memory of her many friends and associates of her girlhood days.
