Arless Vern Joy, son of John Andrew and Ada Belle Hendrickson Joy, was born

June 24, 1905 in Decatur County and died July 1968, after suffering a

stroke.

On June 30, 1939, he was united in marriage with Lucille Hagen and of this

union were two children. Arless farmed in Decatur County most of his life,

retiring only after illness forced him to, remaining as active as health

permitted.

He is survived by his wife Lucille, of home, a son Kenneth of Lamoni, a

daughter Brenda of Milan, Mo., a daughter-in-law Mary and son-in law Verlin

Phelps; two grandchildren, Kevin Joy and Sheila Phelps; brothers Elba of

Zephyrhills, Fla. And Duane of Seattle, Wash., friends and neighbors.
