T.C. JACKSON, cashier of the Davis City Bank, died at his residence in
this city last Saturday evening, May 3lst. The death of this good man,
though not unexpected, was none the less a severe shock to his family
and friends.

The funeral discourse was preached Monday at the Union Church by ELDER
MILLER, of the order of United Brethren Church, of which branch he was a
most exemplary member. He was interred Monday in the Davis City
Cemetery, under the auspices of the I.O.O.F., of which order he was an
honored member. He was also a member of the church choir and the Davis
City Cornet Band, all of which followed his remains to their last
resting place with profound regret, and while we know his lodge brothers
will furnish a fitting obituary, we cannot refrain from speaking a word
in favor of that good man.

To know him was to respect him; to become acquainted with him was to be
his friend. Not only his mother, wife and little innocent children have
sustained a loss, but the church--the business circle--the
community--will miss T.C. JACKSON for many long days to come. Yet wife
and children grieve not. Your loss is is infinite gain. He is now
safely housed on yonder bright shore. He cannot return to you but you
can go to him, for such is the promise of the Savior he loved. Brother,
rest in peace, thy toils are o'er.
