Gretchen Hoadley

Gretchen W. Hoadley, 89, of Parkview Care Center, died there at 1:20 a.m. today, March 30, 1993.

The service will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Raymond Funeral Home with the Rev. Richard Wallarab officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery. Family visitation will be from 3 to 6 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. A memorial has been established to Fairfield Public Library.

Miss Hoadley was born June 18, 1903, at Garden Grove, the daughter of Roy C. and Mae Frances Stickney Hoadley. She grew up in Garden Grove and received a bachelor of arts degree in elementary education from University of Northern Iowa in Cedar Falls.

She taught elementary school in Indiana and Iowa for 45 years before retiring. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church and Chapter C, PEO.

Surviving are a sister, Mary Eleanor Hoadley of Gathersburg, Md.; a niece, a nephew; a grand-niece and seven grandnephews. A brother, Robert Hoadley and two sisters, Betty Russell and Helen Hoadley, preceded her in death.
