LEWIS SNARE was born in Licking County, Ohio,
November l2, l834, and
died at his home near Decatur, Iowa, July l8,
l9l5, at the age of 80
years, 8 months and 6 days.

He remained with his mother in Licking
County, Ohio, until he had
reached the age of 22 years, and at this time
he was united in marriage
to MARY E. PLUMMER, of Licking County, Ohio.
They then came to Johnson
County, Iowa, in the year l869. To this
union four children were born,
three sons and one daughter, two of whom
survived him, WM. SNARE, of
Casper, Wyoming and MRS. R.B. GREENHALGH, of
Decatur, Iowa.

He moved to What Cheer, Iowa, in the year
l885, where he remained until
the fall of l9l4, when he moved to Decatur,
Iowa.

He had been a blind invalid for the past
eighteen months of his life,
but Sunday morning, July l8, l9l5, he passed
quietly away to his home
beyond the sky. He leaves to mourn his loss,
his faithful wife, one
daughter and one son, a brother, BEN SNARE,
of Johnson, Ohio, one
sister, ELMA OVERHOLT, of Ohio City, Ohio,
fifteen grandchildren and a
host of other relatives and friends.

The funeral services were held at the
Christian Church at Decatur, Iowa,
Tuesday, July 20, l9l5. The service was
conducted by Rev. J.M. Hedges,
of Osceola, Iowa. He was laid to rest in the
Decatur Cemetery.
