26 May 1850 in Auborn, Cayuga County, New York, the 1st child of 6 children born to Mary Ann Binning and William Hewlett was a daughter named Sarah Jane Hewlett. Sarah Hewlett would also be joined with 3 more half siblings with the marriage of her mother to William Anstey.

19 Feb 1915 in Richland, Decatur County, Iowa, Sarah Jane Hewlett's mother Mary Ann Binning Hewlett Anstey passed away. Mary Ann Anstey provided for Sarah in her will. Guardianship and care went to Sarah's sister Mary Ann Evans.

24 Mar 1929 in Grand River, Decatur County, Iowa, at the age of 78 Years, 9 Months, 26 Days, Sarah Jane Hewlett passed away. At a early age Sarah Hewlett left the state of New York with her parents and younger brother, and traveled by covered wagon to the state of Iowa. Decatur County, became her home and the family grew with, one younger brother and three younger sisters, two who are surviving. At a early age Sarah's father passed away and with the 2nd marriage of her mother to William Anstey, Sarah's family continued to grow and Miss Sarah gained two more half brothers and a half sister.

Sarah was always surrounded by the love of her family and community.

Preceded in death by her parents, Mary Ann Binning and William Hewlett, brothers; John & Richard Hewlett, sisters: infant Tamer A Hewlett, Tamara "Annie" Hewlett Harris. and step father William Anstey.

Left to honor her memory is her sister, Mary Ann Hewlett Evans and half brothers & sister: Fredrick & William Anstey and Minnie May Anstey Millard.
