ZELMA BEATRICE (FOLAND) BAKER

Wheatland - Services for Zelma Beatrice (Foland) Baker, 90, will be conducted Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. at First Christ Church in Wheatland by Pastor Delbert Dick of American Missionary Fellowship with burial in Wheatland Cemetery.

Mrs. Baker died May 18, 1991, at Platte County Memorial Hospital in Wheatland following a long illness. She was born May 21, 1900, at Grand River, Iowa, to Benjamin F. and Tersa (Young) Foland. She grew up and attended school to the tenth-grade in Grand River.

August 31, 1918, she married Ralph Baker at Mount Ayr, Iowa. In 1930, they moved to Wyoming and farmed in the Bordeaux and Slater communities. They moved to Wheatland following their retirement, where Mrs. Baker lived until the time of her death.

She was an avid knitter and crocheter, and was known as "Jim" or "Granny" Baker by friends and family.

Survivors include her sons, Edgar E. Baker of Cheyenne, Eston D. Baker of Gardnerville, Nev., and John F. Baker of Slater, her daughters, Iva Redding and Randena Wagner of Wheatland; her sisters, Rosella Fain of Iowa, and Coyla Yeager of Torrington; 21 grandchildren; 38 great grandchildren; and one great great grandson.

She was preceded in death by her husband on June 29, 1975; her brothers, Elden, Ralph, Herb, Dow, and Ike Foland; her sisters, Blanche Brammer, Helen Foland and Geneva Fryrear; three grandchildren; and five great grandchildren. Memorials to the Platte County Memorial Hospital - nursing wing, or to Services for Seniors in care of Randena Wagner, 1408 10th St., Wheatland, Wyo. 82201, would be appreciated by the family.
