Obituary ~ Kelli Dawn (Wion) Tizzard
April 01, 1974 - June 08, 2018

The Leon Reporter
Leon, Decatur County, Iowa

Dawn (Wion) Tizzard was born April 1, 1974, to Leslie LeRoy “Nip” and Judith Ann (Diltz) Wion, in Leon, Iowa and departed this earthly life too soon at her home in Lenexa, Kansas, on Friday, June 8, 2018, at 44 years of age.

She was predeceased by her sons, Aric Carlson and Logan Tizzard; brother, Eric Wion; father, Les Wion; father-in-law, Roy Tizzard; uncles, Myles Wion, Dwight Wion, Gerald Wion, and Joe Deal; grandparents, Floyd and June Deal; and grandmother, Byrdie Wion.

Leaving to mourn with loving memories are her husband of almost 18 years, Mark Tizzard; children, Nicholas, Kenzi and Sydney Tizzard; mother, Nancy Wion & Travis Alexander; mother-in-law, Mabel Tizzard; sisters, Chris Hester, Ronee Wion & Clint Skroh, and Shannon Jeffries; brothers, Mathew & Cheryl Wion, Jim Jeffries, and John & Roberta Jeffries; sisters-in-law, Tracy & Geoff Drover and Leah & Mark Preble; nieces, Sara, Erika, Abby, Hayley, Crystal, and Danielle; nephews, Brady, Blake, Ryan, Noah, Sebastian, Tyson, John John, Jesse, and Kyle; special friends, who were more like sisters, Rebecca & Jason Hinz and Autumn & Josh Terry; and special boys, who were more like sons, Dillon Kidwell, Jackson Cobb, and Alex Greshan. Kelli had an enormous circle of family and friends, but no couple as dear to her as her Aunt Sue and Uncle George Templeton.

Kelli was an adventurous, fun, outgoing, and a gifted 'family gathering' planner. She loved animals and Lake of the Ozarks. Sunrise cruises on the jetski was a kid favorite. The annual big foot hunts with all the kids won’t be the same without her. She loved having all her nieces and nephews over to have Netflix binges and midnight Wal-Mart runs. She is the fun one! There was not a child that walked through the door that she did not treat as her own and welcome into her home. She knew no stranger. Kelli was always up for a wild game of Rook. Not many knew but Kelli was a gifted writer and sought great comfort in poetry. She had a heart of gold and would do anything for anyone.

A visitation will take place from 6-8 p.m. on Friday, June 15, 2018, at the Speaks Suburban Chapel, 18020 E. 39th St., Independence, Missouri. Funeral services will be held in Lamoni, Iowa at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, June 16, at the Lamoni Community of Christ Church with burial in Decatur Cemetery, Decatur, Iowa with Slade – O’Donnell Funeral Home in charge. On line condolences may be expressed at www.speakschapel.com and www.sladefuneralhome.com.

Memorials may be given to the Tri-County Mental Health Services, Inc., Kansas City, Missouri in memory of Kelli.
