Osceola, Clarke County, IowaKathryn Lorinda Grimm, daughter of James Keith McBroom and Vera Neal (Hockensmith) McBroom was born November 22, 1935 in Leroy, Iowa and passed from this life Friday, March 2, 2018 at Clarke County Hospital in Osceola, Iowa at 82 years of age.
Kathryn graduated from Leroy High School. She was united in marriage to Roger Boyd Grimm on November 12, 1954 in Indianola, IA and four children blessed this union. Kathryn was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother.
Roger and Kathryn lived and farmed in the rural Woodburn area until they retired and moved to Osceola in 1992. Kathryn loved her family and having many grandchildren and great grandchildren. She enjoyed traveling, quilting, cross stitching, scrap booking, playing cards and listening to music.
Those relatives who preceded Kathryn in death were her parents, James and Vera McBroom, brothers, Clovis "Toby" McBroom, and Richard "Buck" McBroom, sister-in-law, Patricia McBroom, brother-in-law, J.C. Niday, father-in-law, Charles Grimm, and mother-in-law, Bernice Grimm.
Kathryn leaves to cherish her memory, husband of 63 years, Roger Grimm of Osceola, IA, son, Brad (Utahna) Grimm of Des Moines, IA, daughters, Cindy (Rick) Wright of Woodburn, IA, daughter, Cris (Clay) Paulsen of Osceola, IA, daughter, Cathie Grimm of Osceola, IA, grandchildren, Kyle Kristopher Grimm, Stephanie Suzanne (Dan) Olvera, Joseph Alan (Rachel) Wright, Drew Derek Johnson, Jacob Ryan (Terry) Wright, Cole Clayton Paulsen, Kassandra Kathryn (Scott) Simpson, Meghan Monique Gwinn, Baxter Sarkisian Grimm, Jordan Wade (Chelsey) Wright, great grandchildren, Peyton Norma Jean Wright, Wylee Ryan Wright, Lilly May Wright, Layla Lynn Wright, Wheatley Kay Wright, Braden Andrew Olvera, Isabella Kathryn Olvera, Brecken Alexander Olvera, Bay Olivia Olvera, Brennen Aria Olvera, Scarlett Kay Paulsen, Channing Elizabeth Simpson, Carter Olivia Simpson, Tate Owen Luce, Blake Kennedy Gwinn, and Jayde Isabel Cline; sister, Rosa Niday; brother-in-law, Monty (Marjory) Grimm; as well as other relatives and many friends.
A Celebration of Kathryn's life was held at 11:00 a.m. March 6, 2018 at Kale Funeral Home, Osceola, Iowa. Interment was made at Maple Hill Cemetery, Osceola, Iowa.
Kale Funeral Home of Osceola was in charge of arrangements.
